How Do I know Which Company to Choose?

QUESTION: How do I know who I should choose to represent me with the insurance company and do the repairs needed on my house?
ANSWER: Try and check a company out before agreeing to do business. Even if you have already signed a contract, you are allowed by law to cancel such contract within 72 hours of acceptance. This gives you three days to do your homework and be sure you are dealing with the right company. Here are nine questions to ask a contractor before you choose them.

QUESTION: Is your company fully insured and able to provide me with a certificate of both liability and workers compensation insurance?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing upon request will provide all customers with a $2,000,000 liability and $1,000,000 workers compensation certificate.

QUESTION: I understand that most contractor insurance policies exclude roofing projects; does your insurance cover that?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing has roofing listed on the certificate which will be provided.

QUESTION: Is your company a member of, and in good standing with, the Better Business Bureau?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing has an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau.

QUESTION: Does your company hand write estimates or do you have estimating software that assures me I am getting an accurate proposal?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing will give you an on-the-spot computerized cost summary.

QUESTION: Is your company licensed to do business in my state?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing follows all of the state, federal, and county licensing guidelines and is legal to do business in your state.

QUESTION: Do you use employees that are paid through legal state and federal payroll methods, or do you pay employees cash “under the table”?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing pays all employees through legal payroll methods.

QUESTION: Do you have at least 100 references that I can choose from so I can contact two or three of them and verify the quality of your work.
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing has as many references as you would like for both commercial and residential projects with jobs ranging in price from $100 for repairs, and up to $170,000 for commercial projects.

QUESTION: If required, are all your workers tied off with safety harnesses during the entire roofing process, as required by OSHA federal safety guidelines?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing follows all of OSHA’s federal safety guidelines.

QUESTION: Is your company certified by the manufacturers of the products that you will be installing on my home or business?
USRCT ANSWER: United States Roofing is trained and certified by our manufactures. This allows our company to provide workmanship warranties for up to 50 years, which are backed by the manufacturer.
